Management Background & Expertise Richard D. Ridgeway, Managing Partner: Mr. Ridgeway has over 40 years of experience in construction, engineering design, estimating, construction management, project management and value engineering. He has a very strong background in the areas of cost estimating and value engineering, which he attained through positions with several major architectural, engineering and contracting firms in the United States. He is a City of Chicago Electrical Contractor, and past member, American Society of Professional Estimators Secretary (ASPE), Detroit Chapter (1991), and a Certified FEMA Housing Inspector. Abraham Thomas, Partner: Mr. Thomas as former director of construction (Recently retired), real estate, and facility engineering in Asia Pacific, Mr. Thomas was responsible for the organizational efforts required to design and construct Motorola facilities in the Asia Pacific Region. His staff is responsible for establishing green field facilities, renovating existing facilities, and providing space for a variety of Motorola business functions. He oversaw the planning, budgeting and scheduling of the projects in conjunction with Motorola manufacturing, Motorola facility group, Architect, Engineering and Construction Management Firms and other outside consultants as required. His personal expertise in the areas of construction, procurement, contract negotiation, programming, architectural and engineering design have proven invaluable to the successful completion of projects in a timely and cost effective manner. These skills have been developed over his 32 years of experience as an Architectural Designer, Architectural Project Manager, Construction Manager and Project Director on a variety of projects in the USA, Caribbean, Latin America and South East Asia. Alphonse Dell'Isola, PE, FSAVE,, Director of Value Management: Mr. Dell’Isola formerly served as Director of Value Engineering for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and for the Corps of Engineers in Washington, D.C. Engineering News-Record cited him in 1964 for outstanding achievement in the introduction of value engineering to the construction industry. In 1968, he received the Distinguished Service Award and in 1981 was elected Fellow of the International Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE). In 1980, he received a Presidential Citation from the Society of Japanese Value Engineers and an Exceptional Service Award from the World Trade Center (1993) for his input in the disaster reconstruction. In 1994 he was elected an Honorary Associate of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (U.K), and in 1998 was awarded by SAVE the Larry D. Miles Award (Their Highest Award for Technical Achievements). He was a consultant to the President’s Ford Advisory Council on Management Improvement and has given expert testimony to several Senate and House Committees. This testimony was instrumental in getting Congress to mandate VE requirements in U. S. Government procurements. Publications include over 100 articles on VE, LCC and cost control and texts Value Engineering in the Construction Industry (Third Edition) and co-author of Life Cycle Costing for Design Professionals (Second Edition), Life Cycle Cost Data and Project Budgeting for Buildings.
